Redwood Coast Financial Partners’ Nick Bertell will attend the Value Investing Congress and the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholder meeting on May 5, 6,7 and 8 in Omaha, Neb., hoping to bring back lots of knowledge and investment management philosophies from some of the most successful investors in the world: The presenters will include Whitney Tilson, Glenn Tongue, Doug Kass, Warren Buffett and many others. After the presentation, Bertell will take an intensive workshop on value investing presented by Glenn Tongue and Whitney Tilson then give a presentation to clients on May 10.

“We are attempting to bring world class investment management to Humboldt County,” Bertell said. “We look for great investors to emulate and with Tongue , Tilson, Kass and Buffett; we’re getting the best models possible.”

The Value Investing Congress is a semiannual investment conference “for value investors from around the world to network with other serious, sophisticated value investors and benefit from the sharing of investment wisdom.”

After the conference “Whitney Tilson and Glenn Tongue offer an intensive seminar where they share their experience and insights from their very successful investment careers. The coursework includes how to identify value opportunities and avoid value traps(1).”

Buffett owns insurance company Berkshire Hathaway Inc., and he annually holds a meeting where he takes questions from shareholders that received credentials for the event. For five hours, Buffett will share his thoughts on the investments he has made and how he thinks — valuable information that Bertell hopes to absorb and plans to share with his clients on May 10 at the Avalon.

This will be Bertell’s first Berkshire Hathaway meeting and the third Value Investing Congress Bertell has attended. Not only has he brought back information he can use to improve his clients’ portfolios, but he has also extended his network across the nation, meeting other investment advisors, analysts, and money managers, which can also help him help clients.

The presentation for RCFP clients will be May 10 at the Avalon.
