Like many milestone events in our lives, getting married is both a thrilling and stressful time, and picking a wedding dress is often the first thing a bride-to-be does after selecting a date. Promises Bridal and Formal Wear focuses not only on helping customers find the perfect dress, but also starting them out with their best foot forward.
Owner Linda Jo Alexander said her goal is to make the dress shopping experience as seamless as possible, as the bride has enough to worry about.
“The only thing we can do is make sure the dress fits and is delivered on time,” she said. “We are here as your support.”
What really sets Promises Bridal apart from other formal wear stores is the array of dresses available. Most stores only carry a limited range of sample sizes from 10 to 14, but Alexander selects wedding gowns in sizes from 4 to 28, picking a variety of styles to match different body types and personal tastes. Seamstresses are available to make any alterations to ensure the gown fits perfectly.
Depending on the time of year, Promises Bridal has anywhere from 1,000 to 2,000 dresses in stock, and not just for weddings. The formal wear store also has dresses perfect for proms, quincianeras, flower girls, bridesmaids and other special occasions.
“Every dress in here is handpicked,” Alexander said. “It’s all hand selected, so every dress has a story to me.”
